Why I Do What I Do
Creating Generational Resilience
After 20 plus years of working for others, in 2016 I started my own business. In my mid 40’s, with a baby son and a daughter starting school, as well as the added pressure of my husband who works away, I decided to take the plunge. I driving force was to have the flexibility to be there for my young children while doing what I loved.
This was the start of extending myself, challenging my every belief and not just stepping, but running out of my comfort zone. As a result, I am now clear about who I am, what is important to me, what I bring to the table and how I want to contribute to the world around me. I have realised my potential and my purpose.
Why am I telling you all of this?
I know what it’s like to transition your life time and time again. My family needed to do this a few years ago because of the mining downturn. It was one of the most challenging times we experienced, but we gained a level of emotional resilience and endurance that keeps us strong today as the world goes through this very uncertain time.
Now, due to COVID 19, along with many other people in the world, we have experienced another major transition. We have moved to a rural town in the Central West of NSW’s, away from everything my children have known for most of their short lives. Our ongoing emotional endurance is serving us well in these uncertain times. All I continue to see is potential and opportunity.
If your resilience is taking a battering at the moment….you are not alone. Many people today are asking question, taking stock and wondering if they have what they have the internal resources to address the current world changes.
Circumstances may be pushing you to make some big life changes. However, before you decide to do anything big and life-changing, it’s important to do some inside work.
It is normal and natural to take stock of your life. How you feel about your reflections is based on how you ultimately feel about yourself.
I believe everyone has the capacity to change, grow and build and expand their comfort zone. You just might need a helping hand along the way.
